First Home Commemorative Model

This was a lovely gift made to honor a sibling’s purchase of their first home. Made based on a photo of the new home, the piece 3 dimensional model made from paper and acrylic. The windows are 1/16 acrylic, the other elements are made from colored paper stock, and laser engraved with the appropriate pattern ( eg, a brick pattern was engraved on the red, and slightly distorted rectangular pattern on the gray for the shingles, etc.)

Each element was raised away from the background using invisible spacers, and positioned appropriately to create a forced perspective image. The model was then mounted in a floating frame to further enhance the illusion of depth.
