The following pictures are from our production partner. The process works by applying an acid resistant coating to the metal (the blue). It is photo sensitive, so using a positive film of the artwork, the coating is exposed to ultraviolet light which hardens the exposed areas. The unhardened material is then washed away. The metal is put in an acid bath which eats away the exposed metal. Then the coating is removed using a different chemical process.
